Today, PCB connectors are an essential component in many areas of mechanical engineering. They are particularly valuable in applications where harsh environmental conditions demand a device design with exceptionally reliable connections. Our M8 and M12 connector families offer a perfectly harmonised solution that makes design and assembly much easier. All components have been developed to harmonise perfectly with each other and reduce the workload for developers and designers.
Thanks to their sophisticated design and versatility, our IP67 circular PCB connectors offer an optimal solution for device developers who need high-performance and durable connections even under challenging conditions.
Available in M8 and M12 versions as well as one- or two-piece versions for maximum customisability.
Variants for different soldering processes, suitable for your production process.
Suitable for front and back panel mounting.
Our M8 and M12 PCB circular connectors can be categorised as Power, Signal and Data. Each of these categories is specially optimised for its respective requirements and offers different features that are decisive for the respective area of application.

PCB connectors in the M8 and M12 range are primarily used in industrial applications where a compact and reliable connection between a printed circuit board (PCB) and other electrical components is required. These connectors are especially suited for use in automation systems, mechanical engineering, measurement technology, and the automotive industry, where small sizes and high robustness are essential.
The protection class IP67 indicates that a connector or device is completely dust-tight (first digit "6") and protected against the ingress of water when immersed up to a depth of 1 meter for a maximum of 30 minutes (second digit "7"). This protection class ensures high robustness against external influences such as dust and moisture, making it ideal for use in harsh environments.
Connectors with the IP20 protection class offer no protection against dust and are only protected against larger solid objects with a diameter of 12 mm or more. Therefore, they are suitable for use in dry and clean indoor environments but not for environments with moisture or dust. In contrast, IP67 connectors provide higher protection and are designed for more demanding environments, such as outdoor applications or industrial facilities exposed to moisture and dust.
M8/M12 connectors offer an excellent solution for use in space- and demand-intensive applications due to their compact sizes and robust properties. Compared to larger connectors, they are more space-efficient while still providing high load capacity and secure contact. This makes them ideal for use in areas such as automation technology, medical technology, and vehicle engineering.
The categorisation of connectors into Power, Signal, and Data is important because these three categories have different requirements for electrical characteristics and connection reliability. A clear separation allows for reliable functionality and safety in each application.
OMNIMATE® IP67 components from Weidmüller stand out for their high quality, reliability, and durability. They provide excellent performance in harsh environmental conditions and ensure a safe and robust connection, even under extreme conditions such as moisture, dust, and vibrations. Weidmüller is a renowned provider of electronic components known for their precision and innovation. Additionally, OMNIMATE® IP67 components offer easy handling, fast assembly, and high operational reliability.
The coding in M8/M12 connectors plays a crucial role in ensuring that only compatible connectors can be mated together. This prevents incorrect wiring, which could lead to malfunctions or damage to the electrical components. Particularly in industrial applications where several connectors come together, coding is a safety measure to avoid confusion.
There are different codings that change the physical structure of the connectors and are optimised for different applications.
The choice of the correct coding depends on the specific requirements of the application. It guarantees that the connectors are correctly aligned and function as intended. This prevents incorrect connections and improves the reliability of the system.
OMNIMATE® IP67 components from Weidmüller are found in numerous applications across various industrial sectors, including:
Choosing the right connector depends on several factors, such as the electrical requirements, the type of environment (e.g., indoor or outdoor use), mechanical requirements, and the protection class. It is important to know the specifications of the application in order to select the correct protection class (e.g., IP67) and the appropriate components (e.g., Power, Signal, or Data). The Weidmüller ConnectorGuide also helps to find the right connector for each specific application.
